July 25, 2018
Rolf Jacob Sartorius  born October 2, 2002 is an American singer and internet personality, who rose to fame via social media from posting lip-syncing videos on musical.ly. In 2016, he released his debut single "Sweatshirt", which reached the Hot 100 charts in the United States and Canada. Jacob Sartorius was the 9th most searched musical artist of 2016.

On January 20, 2017, Sartorius released his debut extended play The Last Text which included eight songs. The EP charted in the albums charts in the United States, Canada, Scotland, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland and Australia. His debut concert tour The Last Text World Tour took place the same year. Then he released his second EP, Left Me Hangin'.
He has two YouTube channels where by in one has mostly his music videos while the 2nd channel is basically his vlog. He has an estimated net worth $3 million mainly earned from his music career which involves music sales, touring, merch etc.

Jacob’s main channel has over 2.8 million subscribers growing by 1,000 new ones daily and has amassed over 180 million views since it was started. In a day the channel’s videos get around 260,000 views per day which should generate an estimated revenue of around $500 per day ($180,000 a year) from YouTube ads.

YouTubers get paid between $2 – $5 per 1000 monetized views after YouTube takes its cut. Monetized views range from 40% – 60% of the total views. All these are influenced by several factors like device played on, the location of the viewer, ad inventory, how many ads there are on a video, how many people skip the ads, ad engagement etc.
There is also a program known as Google Preferred where deep-pocketed companies can target ads on the top 5% most popular content.

The ad rates here are higher than normal. Apart from ads, YouTubers also generate extra from YouTube Red viewers who pay a monthly fee to view premium content on YouTube plus watch videos without ads. Here they get paid based on watch time on their videos. The longer the viewers watch their videos, the more money they earn.

Jacob makes extra income through going on tour and music sales plus royalties.
